The Tack is a recreation of "Mrs Mills”, a tack piano from Abbey Road Studios with which The Beatles, Elliot Smith and many others recorded some of their tracks.
The tack piano (sometimes referred to as jangle piano, junk piano, honky-tonk piano or harpsipiano) is a permanently altered version of an ordinary piano, in which tacks or nails are placed on the felt-padded hammers of the instrument at the point where the hammers hit the strings, giving the instrument a tinny, more percussive sound.
What's nice about the library is that it relies on an ordinary upright piano and you can add the amount of "tack" sound you want.
This is an "W-Honky" update for what we re-recorded the same upright piano with 3 velocity layers, 3 round robin, time-based multi-release samples, pedal noise, sustain resonance, velocity remapping, EQ, reverb, chorus and compressor effects, all controllable from the brand new interface. State of the art scripting for perfect response of the instrument.
I feel very proud of this instrument. It's my go-to upright piano library.

Wavesfactory VQ Drums KONTAKT
VQstands for "Vintage Quality". It's a sample library for Kontakt 4 and above that features a 1964 Ludwig Hollywood kit recorded with 12 mics in a wooden studio.
All recorded with 6 velocity layers and 6 round robin, resulting in 36 samples per articulation. All samples normalized to 0db so when a velocity ramp is applied it results in 128 volume steps, which gives a very natural response from the keyboard or e-drum.
This is, by far, the most complex library that I've ever done and it's also the best sounding kit that I've ever heard.
It features a great sounding vintage drum kit recorded with great sounding mics and preamps in a great sounding studio with a nice interface and state of the art scripting implementing pioneer features. It's really hard to get it better.
On the main section you can choose between 2 snares, 2 kick beaters and 2 ride cymbals.
On the mixer section you can mix each microphone with purge/load, pan, volume and output selector controls.
On the effects section you can apply EQ and compression to each channel independently.
On the settings section you can control the volume, tune, envelope and mapping of each articuation separately, velocity curve, microphone bleeding, and enhance the kick and snare with subharmonic content and filtered white noise.
This the most versatile drum library that I know, that's why also included Artist Presets by Dan Zank, Tapsa Kuusniemi, David Hurst and Jesús Ginard. From vintage funk to EDM ready to play! And we'll be adding more presets down the road. It won't go any better than this!

Wavesfactory BlackToms 2.0 KONTAKT
BlackToms 2.0 is a percussion sample library for NI Kontakt 4.2.4 and above.
It features 3 sets of drum toms: high, mid and low.
In this new version we added up to 21 tom layers, new script, interface and 2 microphone positions.
Use the "sub" knob to add a sub-octave layer for a deep taiko sound. The goal of this library is to offer the best sounding epic toms recorded in a dry studio. Most of the epic percussion libraries on the market have embedded in them the reverb of the hall they were recorded in, reverb that you can't get rid of and, if you want to use your own reverb you have to apply reverb to a reverbered signal which is not a good idea. But you won't have this problem with BlackToms 2.0.

The Music Box is a sample library for Kontakt and EXS24. Also included in the library are wind up/wind down/crank/scrape sounds. The library has at least 6 velocity layers on each instrument (some with over 40!) with over 750 samples.

The toy piano has been used as an instrument extensively by musicians such as, Evanescence, Radiohead, Tori Amos, The B52′s, Eels, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Waits and many more. The toy piano is a small piano like musical instrument with a very recognizable sound. Toy pianos are increasingly used as a melodic instrument in film- and television productions soundtracks. Therefore Samplesourcer invested in recording two Toy pianos. A "Honky Tonk” sounding Toy piano and a Bell-sounding Toy piano are sampled in 24 bit 441.kHz high quality.

Tonehammer Old Busted Granny Piano KONTAKT DVDR-DYNAMiCS
The Old Busted Granny Piano is pretty special to us, though it doesn't sound all that fancy. Actually, it sounds pretty damn rough around the edges, but that’s just the way we like her. Sure, there are plenty of other great upright piano libraries out there, with their shining lacquer and pristine strings, but none of them ever captured the authentic beauty of a cheap, dusty, beat up, rusting, long untuned upright piano. This is the kind of old heap your grandma had in her living room. This particular instrument has been in Soundiron co-founder Chris Marshall’s family for many years, before being passed on from one new home to the next. This was also one of the very first instruments Mike Peaslee deep-sampled. We don't know the brand or model off hand, but she looked to be about 60 or 70 years old and quite beat up the last time we saw her.
Her tone is watery and faded. There are a number of broken and dissonant strings, especially in the upper register. The wood is pitted, faded and banged up and the ivory is missing from a number of keys. Every key lands with a loud, wobbly, wooden thud and and lifted with a hollow rattle as soon as you lift your finger again. Sometimes, she seems creak and groan in the middle of the night, for no reason at all really. Clearly, the years have not been kind to her looks or her voice, but the soul of this old upright piano truly has aged like a fine moonshine.
We captured 3-4 velocity layers on all keys, with added round-robin variation on the two middle octaves in the mf range.There are actually two independent release trigger samples for every note to better replicate the natural behavior of the instrument as we recorded it. Each note has separate string release samples and key release samples.The "key” release trigger is the soft, distant sounding mechanical wooden "thud” that naturally occurs whenever any key is lifted, even after the resonance has faded. The piano was so old and rickety that you'd have to very slowly releases the sustain pedal or all of the hammers come crashing back down on the strings and occasionally even get stuck there if you lifted your foot too quickly.
Originally recorded in 2006 and released by Tonehammer in 2008, this library has become a classic, finding its way into an endless roster of soundtracks, trailers, commercials and records. For this brand new 2.1 version of our Granny Piano, we’ve tweaked the mapping and layering to make it feel more responsive and natural, combined the "Tuned” and "Untuned” versions into a single preset with an easy Tuning mode switch and implemented our proprietary voice management technology to minimize noise-?oor build-up while maintaining performance.
